70 Differently-abled candidates received skill certificate under CSR initiatives of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd


Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD) held the Convocation Ceremony in North Paravur,
Ernakulam, Kerala for 70 differently abled Candidates with Locomotor Disability, Speech and Hearing
Impaired and Intellectual disability. These candidates successfully completed their Skill training in Data
Entry Operator, Retail Sales and Hospitality Associate. The program is supported by Indian Oil
Corporation Ltd. (IOCl) under their Corporate Social Responsibility.
This program was implemented by SCPwD, which is incepted under Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE), National Skill
Development Corporation (NSDC) and Confederation of India Industry (CII) to fulfil the mission of
mainstreaming ‘Persons with Disability’ (PwD). The training was conducted at Cottolengo Vocational
Rehabilitation Centre (CVRC), a training partner affiliated with SCPwD.
The programme had the presence of Ms. Bindu R, Dy General Manager (I/C) Human Resource, IOCL
Kerala State and Ms. Vaideshwari Rao P, SM (HR-CSR), Indian Oil Corporation Kerala State office , Mr.
Ravindra Singh, CEO, SCPwD, Rev. Dr. Shony Perumpally, Director, CVRRC, Mr. Baby Joseph, President
(AKPAHI) and other officials from SCPwD and CVRC along with Industries partners and graduating
students and their parents.
It marks a new beginning for the Certified candidates and a new chapter in the inclusion journey of
Indian Oil Corporation.
